Citroën XM multimedia - Otto models 1/18

Today I want to show you the Citroën XM multimedia, a 1/18 model from the french company "Otto-Mobile" manufactured in 1250 pieces. The model sold out immediately, but you should find them on second hand sites for 70-90 euro's at the moment. (this price will only go up)

A lot of people already took pictures of their models, but I will try to give you some more information about the details.

First piece of detail are the lights of this model, they are perfect 1/18 replica's of the XM lights. The front lights are great, but it's the rear lights that give you a warm feeling.

If you look closely at the black band, you will see the reverse lights come through. It's a subtle detail and I'm sure a lot of people missed it, but it's this sense of detail that makes a otto model what it is.

I realy appreciate the color difference between the rims and the bolts

the windscreen wipers look great too

To finish off the car, the interior matches the exterior perfectly, every little detail has been overthought. the dash looks magnificent, the seats have to shades of cream and the doors look amazing. I'm not ashamed to say this is the best Citroën otto models made (I'm not aware of the other brands), and as I have most otto models I can tell the competition is tough.

Let me know what you think about this model based on the pictures or your model. It's a great model and I'm not sure I have noticed all the details if you know more tell me!

Citroën Xm - Neo scalemodels 1/43

My favorite Citroën is the Citroën XM, as I didn’t have a 1/43 XM yet I was hesitating about getting this Citroën XM break from Neo scale models.

Neo has already has a XM break, but it’s green. this pacticular model is 1 of the 300 Grey Citroën XM breaks specialy made by Neo for ModelCarWorld.de

I was hesitating about getting this one because it’s quite expensive. almost 60 euro’s chipping not included. In my opinion that’s a lot of money for a 1/43 miniature.

on the other hand it’s my favorite car, and it’s an addition to my history of Citroën collection as well as to my Citroën break collection. I finaly decided to buy this one and I can tell you all that it’s magnificent. I mean, if it werent for the 1/43th scale, one could say this is a real car. the level of detailing is brilliant. it comes in a very nice box too.

Citroën XM - Solido 1/18 improvements

Last week I received the car on the left of this picture. A 1/18 Citroën XM made by Solido, it's a relatively rare car and prices go up high for mint boxed models. I bought mine for 25 euros, good deal? Certainly, but it had one minor issue... the engine was missing. Apart from this, the car was in perfect condition. it had never left te box and the decals weren't put on yet. It's not my first Citroën XM, I already have one in good condition and one in average condition. this got me thinking.

What if I made perfect car with the new one missing it's engine and the better parts from the one in average condition (mainly the engine)... and make it even better. As all the owners of this model will surely know, the detailing on this car is not the best on the market.
I took the car apart, not my first time as you can see in this video:

These are the pieces I will improve:

The console
 the side panels
 the engine compartment
 the dashboard
 going through the proces

This is how it looks now

Put all this back in the car:
 et voila!

Citroën XM Solido 1/18 Actua High tech No 8501 05-89 DECALS

I just received a car I ordered It's a Citroën XM scaled 1/18 by Solido. This is my third XM but this time the decals weren't put on yet. I see with my other models that the decals tend to come of overtime. For the one with this problem I took this scan. maybe someone can use it to redo his Citroën XM.

No 8501.1.12.1

One small problem with the car... the engine was missing xD

Citroën XM publicity pictures 21.03.1989

No miniatures this time, but another piece of my collection which I'm very proud of. This is a map with 10 publicity pictures of the Citroën XM when it came out in 1989. I searched the internet for these pictures but couldn't find them digitally, I like them a lot so I though maybe others are also interested. I took the pictures with my 10 megapixel camera, so I hope the resolution is OK.
