Citroën HY - Solido 1/18

This is the Citroën HY one of the new miniatures from solido in 1/18th scale. 

the previous model and the one Norev made is 1/21. 

I bought this model because my old model had some troubles and I decided to modify it (see last picture). this Yellow and black Solido toys version is a limited edition of 1000 pieces, made to honour the 80th birtday from Solido.

The model is beautifully detailed and it's great to have a 1/18 van. The only downfall is that the back and side doors don't move but over all I strongly recommend this model

There are a couple of other liveries like a plain grey one and a louis de la brocante one.

Citroën HY "chopper" - altaya 1/43 custom mod

When I was doing my underhaulin project I noticed how nice the base color was on the Citroën HY. As I have this model multiple times I decided to modify one of them, this is the result and I pretty pleased with it.

underhaulin a Citroën HY -Solido 1/21

I finished my underhaulin project. It took quite some time to get it right, but I'm very pleased with the result.

I had some trouble along the way (color was to bright, screws that didn't fit because I moved the door and the bonnet) but overall it went pretty good. 

First I painted the model brown, later on I applied the grey colour. 

Next up was the weathering. I used a mix of black, red, orange and brown paint to make the rust colour. after applying this on the model I sprinkled pigment over the wet paint, this made the rust look pretty  real. at the end I used a sponge with green paint to create the green moss on the body.

Citroën HY made in Malaysia

I bought this hand made Citroën HY in France. it's a model made from soda cans, approximately 1/21 scale. The door on the side slides open and the back door folds open. pretty much for a hand build model!

Solido 1/21 Citroën HY

This is the Citroën HY from solido. it is scaled 1/21 and not 1/18 like many say. It is sold in different versions: this one, a michelin one, one with the citroën logo, a honda racing team van and a louis de la brocante edition...  these are all I know off.
